This edition will focus on how shifts in political regimes, from democratic erosion to authoritarian resurgence, impact the governance and functioning of security institutions, both at the national and international levels.

Any region, country or countries of the region can be examined, from a geopolitical context.

Connections, the journal of the Partnership for Peace Consortium (PfPC), invites submissions for its upcoming third special edition on Ukraine. Although, the conflict is far from over, now is the time to start conceptualizing various possible endings and the eventual post-war situation.

The Editorial Board meets in August 2014 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen to discuss editorial policies, priorities and future issues. The new members from Austria, Georgia, and Switzerland joined the meeting.

The Spring 2015 issue (vol. 14, no. 2) of Connections: The Quarterly Journal, featuring 11 original papers on the South Caucasus, is now online.

On 25 June 2015, the Deputy Prime Minister of Poland - Minister of National Defence, Mr Tomasz Siemoniak presented Mrs Agata Szydelko, with a Medal of Merit for National Defence (Polish: Medal Za Zasługi dla Obronności Kraju).
